Review: G-Ki by Je Joue

G-Ki by Je Joue is designed to be a G-spot toy but it’s effective as both a G-spot and a clitoral stimulator making it suitable for just about anyone who enjoys quality and versatility in their toys.
A beginner will want this because a great deal of effort has been put into creating a toy that helps you find your G-spot and recognizes that not all Gs are created equal.
An experienced toy lover will want this because it’s truly different from other toys. It offers unique features in an industry where innovation is often hard to find.
G-Ki is unique because it contains joints that are adjustable. This means it can be a simple G-spot toy or you can adjust it fully to act as a dual stimulation toy. While I am sure, like most products designed with a “One Size Fits Most” concept, this won’t fit everyone’s anatomy, I believe the unique design does expand, considerably, the number of people for whom this toy will work.
G-Ki is made from 100% silicone that has a matte finish and a smooth texture. It’s not slick, but has that typical silicone, friction-inducing, velvety texture so liberal amounts of lube are recommended. Stick to a water-based lube as oil or silicone based lubes might cause degradation.
Out of the box, G-Ki appears to be a fairly typical G-spot vibe with a diameter ranging from 1.25″ at the tip to 1″ along the narrow portion of the shaft and 1.5″ along the handle. It’s about 9 inches in length, and has a thick, easily gripped handle end that narrows along the shaft before bulging slightly again to create a bulbous end ideal for either clitoral or G-spot stimulation.
And it bends.
There are two buttons, one half-way up the shaft and one just at the bulge in the tip. each is individually depressed to allow for the adjustment of a joint into several different positions. Because of this adjustability, the stated spec of an insertable 5″ varies depending on what position you use.
Another great feature of the G-Ki is it’s rechargeability. The charger attaches to the control panel with a magnetic connection. This is just one feature that helps maintain the waterproof characteristics of the toy. With no charging port to splash water into, it is protected.
The control panel itself is designed with two buttons marked + and -. Turning the G-Ki on requires you press and hold the + button for 2 seconds. Once it’s on, pressing it again, up to 4 times, will increase the intensity from low to high. Continuing to press the + button will cycle through 5 pulsation patterns. Pressing the – button cycles back down through the patterns and vibration levels, but pressing and holding the – button for 2 seconds shuts it off. No cycling through the patterns to get to the off point. Yay!
The vibrations are the good, low frequency, thuddy kind I prefer. They travel through out the toy and while not “pin point” per se, they are strong enough to please areas of your body that like pin point stimulation.
G-Ki is waterproof and therefore pretty easy to care for. It’s non-porous silicone surface can be cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap or your favorite toy cleaner.
Keeping G-Ki out of direct sunlight and away from other toys is recommended and the gift-worthy black storage box makes that a simple task.
Let me say, the instruction booklet provided with this toy is a great deal more useful than most. In addition to operation and care instructions, Je Joue gives extensive notes on the most effective way to locate and stimulate your G-spot. We’re all different of course and what works for some will not work for others, but giving those who just honestly don’t where to start a good idea of how to search is immensely helpful.
That alone makes this a great beginners toy, in spite of the hefty price tag.
When I set out to try this toy, I did so with the idea that I would take my time. I’m generally an impatient sort of masturbator who often grabs the strongest clit vibe I’ve got and rubs out a few quick O’s before bed. Not always, but most of the time.
This time, I broke out the Liberator throe, grabbed some lube and took my time to get to know this toy. The buttons for adjustment can be a little tricky, but once you try them out a couple times, you understand how they move and adjustment during play (even during insertion) becomes snap. If you ever had a Barbie doll when you were young, think back to how the knee joints felt when you bent them. The joints in the G-Ki remind me of this and once I got the feel for them, I was less concerned about somehow breaking the toy by bending it wrong.
My favorite position was #3, completely bent into a U shape. It allowed the end to sit against my G-spot quite nicely while the underside of the handle rested between my labia and right on my clitoris. From this position, gently rocking or pressing it upward into my G-spot built an incredibly satisfying orgasm that helped me test the effectiveness of my Liberator thoe (review coming soon!).
I really can’t recommend this toy enough. It’s one of the few I’ve found that inspires me to slow down and create an incredibly satisfying experience for myself. With it’s innovative features and beautiful design (available in black, rose and purple at EdenFantasys.com) it’s a special toy worth saving for.
